About Us
ChicMed’s Unique Backstory
A shared passion for skin care and esthetics—fueled by witnessing their own life-changing results—motivated both Christine and Mireille to embark on careers in the esthetic industry. They each attended the Medical Esthetic Program at the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics (at different times) in Woburn.
They ultimately found themselves working for the same company, which is how they met.
“Working together, we found that we were so in sync and did an amazing job running one of the locations, making it the top-performing clinic in the whole company,” Mireille says. “We also became the best of friends through working together.”
Ultimately, though, they tired of the impersonal corporate style of a large esthetic company and decided after 10 years that they would open a boutique med spa that offered the kind of personalized care that’s earned ChicMed its stellar reputation.

OUR MED SPA

Christine and Mireille, who are both licensed estheticians, lead a team of skin care specialists that also includes a nurse injector to perform BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal filler injections. All treatments at our med spa are performed under the direction and supervision of Dr. Edgar Ballenas, our medical director who has been certified in medical esthetics since 2004.
Christine and Mireille both completed esthetic training at Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics before earning their licenses. All laser treatments, including laser hair removal and laser skin resurfacing, are performed by a provider who is experienced and trained specifically on the specific platform.
