Benefits of Hydrafacial
It’s fast—one session usually takes as little as 30 minutes or less.
Reveals a more even complexion while reducing fine lines, shrinking pores, and improving clarity for acne-prone skin.
There’s typically no irritation or even redness following a HydraFacial.
It’s safe for all skin types and effective for people of all ages.
This luxurious facial is fully customizable to suit your unique skin concerns and sensitivity level.
HydraFacial utilizes a unique, patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system to exfoliate, extract, and hydrate the skin, and its spiral design delivers painless extractions.
The spiral design of HydroPeel® Tips, used in conjunction with the HydraFacial proprietary vacuum technology and serums, creates a vortex effect to easily dislodge and remove impurities while simultaneously delivering hydrating skin solutions.
How to Prepare for Your HydraFacial
To achieve optimal results from your HydraFacial treatment, it’s helpful to prepare in advance. Here are a few things we recommend doing in the weeks and days leading up to your upcoming appointment.
Be clear about your skin goals during your consultation. Let us know why you’re receiving a HydraFacial and what skin concerns you hope to address during your treatment. Whether you have frequent acne breakouts, sensitive skin, or other concerns, let us know. That way, we can customize your treatment to your unique goals and needs.
Don’t wax, thread, or pluck your facial hair within a few days of your appointment. Hair removal treatments can cause the skin to be hypersensitive during your appointment. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible during your HydraFacial, so don’t do anything to increase skin sensitivity beforehand.
Avoid excessive sunlight exposure in the days leading up to your treatment. A HydraFacial won’t feel very good on sunburned, inflamed skin.
Arrive at your appointment with a “clean slate,” meaning no makeup products. If you arrive with makeup, we may ask you to remove it before we begin your treatment. A HydraFacial involves deep cleaning, hydration, and exfoliation. Makeup can interfere with the treatment’s effectiveness.
These simple preparatory steps will help set the stage for a comfortable treatment with a successful outcome.
The Treatment
Only HydraFacial uses patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate. HydraFacial super serums are made with nourishing ingredients that create an instantly gratifying glow in just 3 steps:
CLEANSE + PEEL – Uncover a new layer of skin with gentle exfoliation and relaxing resurfacing.
EXTRACT + HYDRATE – Remove debris from pores with painless suction. Nourish with intense moisturizers that quench skin.
FUSE + PROTECT – Saturate the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximize your glow.
HydraFacial Aftercare
What you do after your HydraFacial can help or hinder your recovery and treatment outcome. Here are some of our top post-HydraFacial “dos” and “don’ts.”
DO:
Keep your skin hydrated after your appointment. Dehydrated skin typically heals more slowly than hydrated skin. Even though a HydraFacial deeply hydrates your skin, the moisturizing effects wear off with time. To keep your complexion looking and feeling supple and healthy, use a non-comedogenic, gentle moisturizer and drink lots of water to support hydration.
Apply sunscreen anytime you go outdoors. After HydraFacial treatment, your skin will be more vulnerable to harmful effects from ultraviolet (UV) rays for a while. Minimize damage by always wearing sunscreen outdoors.
Gently wash your skin with a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free cleanser for the first few days after treatment. This will help soothe inflammation and reduce post-treatment redness.
DON’T:
Use exfoliating products too soon after a HydraFacial. Remember, exfoliation is a key component of a HydraFacial! Give your skin some time to heal without further irritation.
Wear makeup too soon after your appointment. We recommend waiting a day so that your skin has time to recover.
Use over-the-counter acne medications for at least 48 hours after treatment. These products can disrupt your body’s healing processes if applied too soon after a HydraFacial.
Who makes a good candidate?
This gentle treatment is well-tolerated and safe, but there are a few contraindications. If you have cancer or active herpes, you should not have a HydraFacial.
If you’re currently on Accutane, wait six months after you finish before having a HydraFacial. Accutane will greatly thin your skin. Performing anything even remotely considered aggressive while on Accutane can lead to scarring and more skin problems.
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, tell your provider. Pregnancy and nursing are both contraindications for receiving the HydraFacial due to the chemicals used in some of the solutions. Ask us about our juvenile treatment options, perfect for rejuvenating your skin during pregnancy.
Does a HydraFacial remove wrinkles?
You’d need a more intense treatment (like a deep chemical peel or laser resurfacing) to remove deep wrinkles and folds. That said, a series of HydraFacial treatments can temporarily improve the appearance of fine lines and more superficial wrinkles.
In a small study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, women who underwent a series of six hydradermabrasion facials using an antioxidant serum showed an increase in their skin’s elastin and collagen and a decrease in fine lines, pore size, and hyperpigmentation. Their skin also had elevated levels of antioxidants, which protect your cells against free radical damage.
